Alba between history and tradition

Alba

Alba between history and tradition

The city of Alba was founded by a Ligurian tribe, the Statielli three millennia BC and later developed by the Romans under the name Alba Pompeia. It is the capital city of The Langhe, of white truffles, Piedmontese wine and hazelnuts.

Alba’s landscape has been shaped by man over the centuries with remarkable harmony and extraordinary care, its hazelnut groves and vineyards nestled between villages in an unspoiled natural environment.

It is a place where outstanding culinary and cultural traditions continue to exist and evolve, passed down from generation to generation.

Roero’s soils are characterized by the highest percentage of sand in the area. This particular characteristic enhances the wine’s floral aromas. Nebbiolo grapes grown in this terroir develop soft, balanced tannins. Roero’s climate is Apennine with influences from the Po Valley with hot summers mitigated by frequent summer rainfall and cold winters in the valleys.
