Bricco Colma

The History

Bricco Colma vineyards are located in Monferrato and represent Prunotto's innovative and pioneering spirit. This wine is produced from a unique varietal, Albarossa, a hybrid of Nebbiolo and Barbera.

In 2001, Prunotto and three other important wineries in Piedmont signed an agreement with the regional Center for Experimental Viticulture "Tenuta La Cannona" (La Cannona Estate) to study this grape variety. The objective was to encourage the reintroduction and cultivation of this important indigenous grape that was first bred in 1938 by professor Giovanni Dalmasso that today shows great promise in terms of quality and longevity.
